I’m 28, have a BA in journalism and philosophy and a Masters in Religion; I plan to pursue a PhD in and teach World Religion. Areas of my strongest academic interest are: Muslim-Christian Relations, Arabic, theologies of religious pluralism, and comparative ethics.
I would consider myself affiliated with and striving to be a decent Progressive Christian who is mostly Episcopalian but I have many Unitarian leanings, a Baptist past, and I find myself drawn to much that is in the Quaker tradition as well. As a student of religion I find much that I love in Islam, Buddhism, and the other great enduring traditions and will concede to an appreciation of the Perennial Philosophy, however dated that may occasionally seem in our Post-Modern and Post-Liberal era.
I enjoy music, baseball, comics, movies, books, swimming and good food and drink. I try to mix a variety of my interests on this site by doing album and concert reviews, film reviews, end of year best-of lists, religious and political commentary, current events, and comic book/graphic novel pieces of interest.
You’ll see me blog about some artists recurrently here as I am a huge fan of and advocate that others be fans as well of The Drive By Truckers, Gaslight Anthem, Lupe Fiasco, the Hold Steady, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Neko Case, Talib Kweli, and Tori Amos, to name a few.
NICE BLOG! Keep up the good work!

What’s the ‘lost generation’ stuff about?
The first blog I wrote on here years ago summed it up somewhat;
http://dmhamby2.wordpress.com/2008/07/23/a-brief-synopsis-apology-and-such/
Basically it referred to how me and many of my friends felt our age group had little to do with the stereotypical qualities Gen X and Y supposedly have, thus the original blog title reflected issues facing people my age that “fell between x and y” as it says under by blog banner at the top of the page.
So, I just posted a link to your thoughts about Will Campbell and Westboro. I noticed your post was a coupla years old and that your last post was re Martin Luther King from this year. What are you doing currently? Teaching somewhere, I hope? Conrad Douglas
